Moon Shadow Photography is owned by Atlanta native and Decatur resident Karin Koser, with other top notch photographers working alongside Karin when needed.

Karin has looked at the world through a glass lens since she was a teenager, when she graduated from a Brownie camera to an inherited Pentax 35mm.  Her love of photography stems from her curiosity in people and the world around her and in finding art and joy in everyday places and situations.  Natural light and hand-held work are her favorite. Today she shoots 90% digital with Canon equipment.

Karin honed her skills as high school yearbook photographer with a twin lens camera and hundreds of new “friends” who all shouted “take my picture.”  These days, she seeks to be less noticed, particularly when traveling.  Among her favorite places to shoot are Appalachicola and Cape San Blas, Florida; Australia, New Zealand and Miami.

In addition to fine art photography, Karin specializes in people photography of all kinds, shooting corporate and talent headshots, dance events, weddings, family portraits and special occasions.  Karin’s work has been published in the Atlanta Journal & Constitution, along with accompanying articles she wrote.  She has received photography awards from the Society of American Travel Writers and Atlanta Celebrates Photography in the only competitions she’s entered to date.

She dedicates her work to her beloved stepdad, Myron “Pete” Peterson, who was killed in a plane crash in 1966 while on a photo assignment in Japan.
